Good article. I was pleased to learn that we are on the same path as the author. We went through the mindset change of "lubricating motors causes failures by getting grease in the windings" to a disciplined lube program for motors over 50hp even using vibration to determine when the motor bearings should be lubed.

I think you bring up a valid point. Preventive maintenance must make economic sense. For many, it may be counter-intuitive, but ultimately decisions come down to dollars and "sense."
